2010/2011 Academic Year Dining Plan Options

Welcome to Cal Poly! We have many dining options to help make your college experience an enjoyable success. Whether you are planning to eat one, two or three square meals per day at a dining credit restaurant, we have options to meet your personal needs!

If you have dietary restrictions please read through the Terms and Conditions carefully and contact Campus Dining Customer Service for assistance prior to signing the Housing License.

RESIDENCE HALLS

If you are a student living in a RESIDENCE HALL, please choose from the following dining options:

Flexibility	10 Weekly	300 Quarterly; 900 Annual	$4,339	This plan is ideal for students who want to eat about 1-2 meals per day at the dining credit restaurants and purchase food at other places on campus.
Value	12 Weekly	75 Quarterly; 225 Annual	$4,339	Best Value! This plan is ideal for students who want to eat about 2 square meals per day at the dining credit restaurants and purchase food at other places on campus.

Payment Information

2 Important Steps to Remember:

Make the initial payment of $1,200 for all plans from 6/15/10 to 7/15/10.
Select a dining plan and pay the remaining balance from 8/10/10 to 8/31/10.

Remaining Balance Payment Options for Freedom, Flexibility and Value Plans:

Pay $3,139 in full or sign up for a payment plan by 8/10/10 and make 9 payments of $348.78.

ON-CAMPUS APARTMENTS

If you are a freshman student living in an ON-CAMPUS APARTMENT, please choose from the following dining options:

Pay $2,304 in full or sign up for a payment plan by 8/10/10 and make 9 payments of $256.00.

OFF-CAMPUS

If you are a student LIVING OFF-CAMPUS, please select from the following options:

Apartment Life (Quarterly)	8 Weekly	200 Quarterly	$1,168	This plan is ideal for any student, faculty or staff that enjoys the convenience of dining on campus. You will never need to bring cash again! All you need is your PolyCard to conveniently dine anywhere on campus.
Campus Express Club	Campus Express is the best and most convenient way to make purchases at Cal Poly. Add value to your PolyCard to purchase food, clothing, printing, textbooks, supplies and health services.			Using Campus Express Club is easier than cash or checks. Adding value online is quick and easy.

Apartment Life Quarterly Plan: Purchase plan at the Customer Service Office in Building 19.
Campus Express Club: Click here to deposit online.

OTHER IMPORTANT INFORMATION

How does my dining plan work?: The program works like a debit card, with all of the funds available through your PolyCard at the beginning of each quarter at select on-campus locations. You can add more funds at any time to your Campus Express Club membership to supplement your dining program.
What is a dining credit and where can I use them?: Dining Credits are cash equivalency amounts that allow you to purchase items up to a certain amount for the meal period used. Listed below are the cash equivalency amounts per meal:
Breakfast: $7.90
Lunch: $8.75
Dinner: $10.75
Late Nite: $8.75
Dining Credits are welcome at Einstein Bros. Bagels, 19 Metro station, Sandwich Factory and VG Cafe.
What are Plu$ Dollars and where can I use them?: Plu$ Dollars, a dollar-for-dollar declining balance used for purchasing food on campus, are welcome at all campus restaurants, markets and many vending machines.
Does this plan cover all of my food needs for the academic year?: The dining plans are designed to provide the majority but not all of your food needs for the academic year. If you would like to allocate more funds for food, you can easily add value to your Campus Express Account online.
How do I sign up?: Freshman sign up through the Cal Poly Portal after acceptance into Residence Halls and Housing payment is made. All other students, faculty and staff can sign up at the Customer Service Offices located in the atrium of Building 19.
When can I start making payments?: Initial payments begin 6/15/2010. Your choice of full payment balance payment or installment payments are due 8/10/2010.
When does my dining plan begin and expire?: The 2010/11 academic year dining plans start at dinner on September 13, 2010 and end at the end of spring term, 2011.
What if I have special dietary needs?: If you have dietary needs please read through the Terms and Conditions carefully and contact Campus Dining Customer Service for assistance prior to signing the Housing License.
Can I change my dining plan?: Dining plans can be changed from one to another during designated times throughout the academic year. Contact the Customer Service Representative in Building 19 for more information.
What are the rules for cancelling a dining plan?: The dining plan contract will be cancelled for a refund only if the student's agreement with University Housing is cancelled by Housing. Contact Housing for the appropriate support documentation and processes.
