Under the supervision of the Unit Supervisor, your primary responsibility will be to plan, direct, and supervise all activities associated with the operation. The position is responsible for ensuring that high professional standards are demonstrated in areas such as training and supervision of employees, optimal customer service, sanitation, cash handling, scheduling, TKC, production control, inventory levels, preventative maintenance, and a safe working environment. Will recommend new products and stay current with the outside market and customer trends.
Supervise student assistants in preparation with an emphasis on serving the customer in the timeliest manner possible. Monitor presentation and quality along with portion control, sanitation and student assistant appearance.
Maintain a sanitary and safe operation. Instruct employees in safe sanitation practices. Follow prescribed safety and sanitation procedures to ensure compliance with Health Department regulations and safety standards. Maximize a neat, clean appearance for our customers. Watch for and correct safety hazards such as improper lifting techniques or spills.
Complete in a timely manner the following paperwork, to include, but not limited to, labor schedules, TKC timekeeping and reports, Eatec requisitions and inventory, new employee paperwork, employee evaluations, maintenance and custodial work orders. Account for and control food and labor costs.
Assume the duties of the Supervisor in his/her absence to be in compliance with prescribed set policies.
Perform other duties as assigned in an effort to provide optimum service to our customers at all times.
Provide, and train employees in proper customer service. This includes, but is not limited to, friendly greeting, correct phone etiquette, and efficient and correct handling of complaints. Monitor and report comments and complaints from customers in an effort to enhance and improve the operation and service levels.
Perform the duties of any position as needed, following prescribed procedures to ensure jobs are completed and customers are provided with optimum service.
Monitor food safety following HACCP guidelines and presentation.
High school degree or equivalent and a minimum of two years food service experience in a high volume fast food type business. One year in a supervisory position and coffeehouse environment (preferred). Knowledge of proper cash handling procedures, food handling and display, sanitation, and customer service. Good oral and written communication skills. Knowledge of principles, techniques, and procedures of a fast-paced food service business. Ability to supervise and develop good working relationships and to understand and provide the principles of good customer service; will supervise two to fifteen part-time student and intermittent employees. Ability to operate a cash register, espresso machine, coffee brewers, and computer. Must have a valid California Driver’s License and a driving record acceptable to our insurance underwriters. Ability to lift and move 50 pounds. Become ServSafe certified within first year of service and maintain certification as required. Regular full-time attendance is required.
